GAINESVILLE, FLA. – July 7, 2022 —The Liberty Company Insurance Brokers (Liberty) is proud to announce John Laurie’s recent appointment as Chief Partnership Officer.
Bringing more than 20+ years of insurance industry experience to Liberty, Laurie began his career in insurance as a Principal and Managing Partner at Wyman, Green & Blalock in 1999. He then served as the managing partner for seven years before Wyman, Green & Blalock merged with BB&T Insurance Services and is now McGriff Insurance Services. This is where he was promoted to Regional Insurance President and worked there for 11 years before being recruited by USI Insurance Services to serve as the South Florida Property & Casualty Insurance Practice Leader. Laurie worked at USI for one year before starting his own consulting firm, Synergy Advisors LLC, where he began providing consulting services to Liberty, which later led him to join Liberty to focus on Agency Partnerships and Producer Recruiting in January 2020.

Laurie served as Past Chairman of the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA), Past Alternate Director of IIABA (Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America), and was appointed by the previous Florida Governor to serve as Technical Insurance Advisor. Laurie is also active in the community serving as Past Director of the local Chamber of Commerce, Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the local Kiwanis Foundation, Founding Board Member and Past President of a non-profit organization serving disabled individuals, and was a Founding Board Member of a local church. In his free time, Laurie enjoys traveling, boating, skiing, and biking.
